The much anticipated second auction of Denver Art Museum’s historic clothing de-accession will  be held on April 7th & 8th, 2006 at our auction gallery in New Hope, PA. This winter Charles A. Whitaker and Karen Augusta have been opening more boxes filled with treasures from this massive de-accession. Rounding out this sale are de-accessions from the Maine Historical Society, the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, Kent State University, other major institutions together with select consignments from a few remarkable estates and private collections. In addition, we are selling a collection per order of the Trustees of the Philadelphia Museum of Art to benefit their Acquisition Fund.  All cataloged lots will be sold free of minimum or reserve at Whitaker’s Spring Clothing & Textile Auction.

In addition to the huge volume of items cataloged for this two-day auction, we have also scheduled our second "Discovery Sale" for Friday evening, immediately following our Session 1 cataloged sale. Hundreds of un-cataloged 19th-20th C garment & textile treasures will be offered to the highest bidder either by the piece or in large box lots.

This is a must-attend sale for vintage dealers, collectors, designers, re-enactors and all antique clothing & textile lovers.
