Augustas semi-annual Vintage Clothing & Textile Auction will return to
the gallery in New Hope on March 24th & 25th, 2004.
The sale, held over
two days, has no minimums or reserves.
The auction is comprised of de-accessions from the Wadsworth
Athenaeum, Ohio State University,
an American costume museum, and other institutional collections. These
have been
supplemented with a large grouping of estate laces & linens
and selections from a few private collections.
Textiles, fabrics, shawls, laces and linens will be sold on
Wednesday afternoon, March 24th beginning at
4pm. Antique
clothing and accessories will be auctioned on Thursday, March 25th at
11am. Previews will be held on both days beginning at
9am.

Pristine: Near perfect.
No evidence of wear. No visible flaws.
Excellent: Gentle wear or minor damage, easily repaired.
Very Good: Garment is sound. Visible repair or in need of repairs.
Fair: Significant evidence of wear or damage.
Poor: No longer intact. Useable for salvage or recycling of parts
