On May 9th & 10th, 2008 Charles A. Whitaker and
Karen Augusta will host our 14th specialty vintage clothing and
antique textile auction at the New Hope, PA gallery.
If you can attend only one clothing and textile sale in
2008, make your plans now to be in New Hope for our spring auction.
Our warehouse and studio are overfilled with new-to-market treasures
we have been amassing since last summer. The variety and sheer
volume are sure to entice even the hardest-to-please clothing and
textile aficionados.
More that 20,000 objects are now being sorted for a
jam-packed 2-day sale. Over 1,200 catalogued lots will be offered
over two sessions on May 9th & 10th. Many more will be offered
uncatalogued to bidders at our much anticipated spring “DISCOVERY
SALE” - to be held the afternoon of May 9th, immediately following
the Session 1 catalogued textile, linen and lace sale.
We are encouraging all visitors to this site to make plans now
to attend this sale in person. Acknowledging the volume of items
that will be sold, there will be NO INTERNET BIDDING
at our spring sale. Bidders must be in attendance or have filed the
forms for absentee or phone bidding. Bid forms will be available
when the full catalogue is posted mid-April.
Many auction objects are consigned to us from museums,
universities and historical society collections with proceeds used
to care for their permanent collections. Institutions benefiting
from this sale include Wellesley Historical Society (MA),
The Bennington Art Museum (VT), Shippensburg University
(PA), Kent State University (OH), a major Rhode Island
university and ESMOD, a new international fashion museum.
