& Box, America, 1820-1830

Black fur felt, 3" grey leather sweat band, tall cylindrical crown, 3.25" brim, crown with embossed paper lining stamped, "KIMBER & DICKINSON 19/ N. FOURTH ST./ PHILADA.", second glued on paper label with owner's name "Micajah Speakman", box shaped to fit hat and lid, both covered with cream wallpaper stenciled in grey and gold, lid lined with printed paper having scriptural writings on inside, lid has ink script, "M. Speakman/West Nan_/ Chester Co. Pa.", possibly Quaker, (box damaged and part of lid missing) hat good, box fair.
